This tasty dessert captures all the flavors and spices of fall in three delicious layers, and is sure to please your friends and family. This dessert is delicious served warm and topped with whipped cream, and makes a perfect treat for after dinner, to take to a dessert party, or even your Thanksgiving meal.

Pumpkin Pie Cake

I N G R E D I E N T S :
For the crust:
1 yellow cake mix (reserve one cup for topping)
1 egg
1/3 cup melted butter
For the filling:
1 large (29-oz) can pumpkin
3 eggs
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ginger
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
For the topping:
1 cup reserved cake mix
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnuts
D I R E C T I O N S :
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
For the crust, reserve one cup of cake mix. Mix the other ingredients together well and put in a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Pat down with hand.
For the filling, mix ingredients in a large bowl and pour over crust.
For the topping, mix together and crumble over pumpkin mix.
Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped cream.

I love this recipe! I have something very similar from my sister in law--same ingredients, but it's assembled differently--in 2 pie dishes and baked. Then we add the cool whip on top. It is marvelous. I may have to try it your way this weekend! Yum!
This sounds really different! I like the combo of cake and pie, but I wish you had snapped a photo!! I'm dying to see it!
