Apple salad with a twist

A few days ago, I posted a recipe for a really easy apple side dish. Well, the other night as I was making it, I decided to change things up a bit. On a whim, I decided to use dried cranberries instead of raisins, and add in some oranges. It was also really tasty and kind of an updated version. Here it is:

Apple Salad with dried cranberries and orange segments

I N G R E D I E N T S :

3 tsp. mayo
2 Tbsp. sugar
One slice of lemon, or a splash of some orange or pineapple juice
3 Apples (I used Gala)
1/2 cup (or so) of dried Cranberries
1 orange, sliced into pieces
1/4 cup (or so) halved pecans
1/4 cup (or so) small marshmallows (optional)

D I R E C T I O N S :

Mix together mayo and sugar; set aside.

Dice apple, and squeeze a small amount of lemon or orange/pineapple juice over it; mix (this prevents browning; I think you can also rinse the apple pieces in salt water for the same effect, but I have not tried this)
Dice orange, and add it and other ingredients.
Pour mayo and sugar over salad, and stir until mixed.

Easy, simple, cheap, and a sweet side to dinner!

I've also put pineapple juice over the apples to prevent browning. It also gives them a sweet taste.

Oh, that's a good idea. I'll have to try it when I have it on hand. I'd much prefer that flavor and to not worry that my apples will taste lemony. I'll make a note of that on the recipe! Thanks!
